Each region of Victoria has developed a fuel management strategy that describes why, where and how often planned burning, other fuel management activities and supporting actions are needed. Barwon South West Region - Far South West

The Barwon South West region - Far South West stretches from Warrnambool to the South Australian border and extends inland to Balmoral, Casterton and Dunkeld.

Barwon South West Region - Otway Ranges

The Barwon South West region - Otways stretches from the Bellarine Peninsula to Port Campbell and extends inland to Skipton and Winchelsea.

Gippsland Region

The Gippsland region covers all of southeast Victoria, between the Great Divide and the coast.

Grampians Region

The Grampians region covers approximately 4.6 million hectares (20% of the state) and extends from the South Australian border in the West to Bacchus Marsh in the east.

The Hume region includes the mountainous areas of the Great Dividing Range in the east and south, to the riverine plains in the north west

Loddon Mallee Region - Central Victoria

The Loddon Mallee region - Central Victoria includes the Macedon ranges, the township of Bendigo and extends north to Kerang.

Loddon Mallee Region - Mallee

The Loddon Mallee region - Mallee is the north-west corner of Victoria and includes the townsiphs of Swan Hill, Robinvale, Red Cliffs and Mildura.

Metropolitan Region

The Metropolitan region includes greater Metropolitan Melbourne, extensive grasslands to its west, and large areas of forest to its east
